Cyberculture

Being in my generation, I have had access to Internet just about my whole life. I have googled, used facebook and myspace, and even used blogs. One thing that I haven't really gotten to use is forums. All of these things make up cyberculture. Cyberculture, although based around pop culture, is made by us. We decide what kinds of pop culture we want to write and hear about. Even though we get to decide there are topics on just about every subject.

I, having participated in blogs before, feel like I have added to this cyberculture. I have also logged onto things such as myspace and facebook and like to read the new stories on Yahoo's homepage. Participating in cyberculture, for me, is easy. I do it just about every day.

I think my participation in cyberculture has positively affected me because it has helped with social skills. Making friends, connecting with friends, or finding friends is also easier thanks to social networks. It has met my expectations to keep up with my social life and school work. It gives me a break from online courses to check out whats happening now or who is contacting me.

It's so easy to be a part of cyberculture. I like how you said that you feel like you've added to cyberculture. That's a good way to put it, and a good feeling to have. MySpace and Facebook (and social networking sites in general) are such good ways to be a part of cyberculture without joining a forum group or things of that nature. Even the different groups that you can join on Facebook and Myspace show that you are interested in things that others are interested in.
Anyway, I'm saying you make some really good points. :)

I really liked your blog. I don't participate in forums but I still feel I add to cyberculture through social networking sites. I also really liked when you said that it helped you with your social skills. It has helped me in that way also. It is so much easier to express your feelings through online conversations than it is to try to explain them to someone in person.

It is easy to be part of cyberculture. My sisters and I have all grown up knowing what the internet was and how to use it. Your blog is interesting. Keep up the good work!

Interacting with cyber culture is something I do on a regular basis as well. Actually I probably interact more often and more easily in a cyber culture than in real life social culture sadly enough. However, I really liked your comment on relating pop culture to cyber culture. I feel that all the cultures we have talked about so far do have an impact on each other and that they even overlap in a few situations. Like myspace and facebook being considered pop culture, or the spread of pop culture through online cyber cultures.

Although I did not have so much experience in the cyberculture, I always use computers to enjoy music, watch films and write articles. Also, we need to make PowerPoint to take our presentation and print our homework by computers. Indeed, cyberculture has influenced us deeply. What we need to do I think is to know how to control ourselves for it.
